Recap: South Carolina One-Day Series at CC of Lexington

On Saturday, July 21st, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation played the  South Carolina One-Day Series event at The Country Club Of Lexington in Lexington, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region,concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

The Champion of the Prep Series is Marley Barefoot (West Columbia, SC 2019) with a score of 79. Finishing runner-up with a score of 81 is Ella Kue (Kings Mountain, NC 2023). Amelia Majcina (Tega Cay, SC 2018) finished in 3rd place with a score of 86. There was a two-way tie for 4th place. Mia Settle (Simpsonville, SC 2019) and Anna Moore (Wilmington, NC 2018) both finished the day with a score of 88. Mia won the scorecard playoff and finished in 4th place.

The Champion of the Futures Series is Mirabella Calabrase (Cornelius, NC 2019) with a score of 79. Finishing runner-up with a score of 83 is Hanna Webber (Jonesville, SC 2022). Izzy Stone (Beaufort, SC 2020) finished in 3rd place with a score of 84. There was a two-way tie for 4th place. Lauren Oh (Lexington, SC 2020) and Imani Belton (Columbia, SC 2020) both finished the day with a score of 87. Lauren won the scorecard playoff and placed 4th.

Congratulations to all of our award winners! The PKBGT is back in action next week with the NC One-Day Series at Bryan Park GC (Players) on July 26 and the NC One-Day Series at Bermuda Run CC (West) on July 28. We look forward to great events!
