Preview: South Carolina One-Day Series at the Country Club of Lexington

On Saturday, July 21st, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the  South Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at The Country Club Of Lexington in Lexington, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region,concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

Featured in the 10 player Prep Series are Ella Kue (Kings Mountain, NC 2023), Mia Settle (Simpsonville, SC 2019) and Marley Barefoot (West Colombia, SC 2019). Ella is currently ranked 8th on the Prep Southeast Order of Merit. She has finished top-3 in 8 PKBGT events this season. Mia is currently ranked T36 on the Prep Southeast Order of Merit. She finished in T7th place at the Coastal Carolina Classic at The Hackler Course. Marley is currently ranked 35th in the Prep Southeast Order of Merit and she was the champion at the SC One-Day Series at The Windermere Club.

Featured in the 17 player Futures Series are Alexis Hodge (Lexington, SC 2022), Allison Lebo (North Augusta, SC 2022) and Anna Walsh (North Charleston , SC 2020). Alexis is currently ranked 4th on the Futures SC Order of Merit and finished T4th place at the SC One-Day Series at the Members Club at Woodcreek. Allison is currently ranked 1st on the Futures SC Order of Merit and finished 2nd at the SC One-Day Series at The Windermere Club. Anna is currently ranked 14th on the Futures SC Order of Merit. She placed 4th at the SC One-Day Series at Spring Valley Country Club.

Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the South Carolina One-Day Series event at the Country Club of Lexington! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series.We look forward to a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
