Recap: South Carolina One-Day Series at The Windermere Club

On Saturday, July 7th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the  South Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at The Windermere Club in Blythewood, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region,concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

The Champion of the Prep Division is Marley Barefoot (West Columbia, SC 2019 ) after a two hole playoff,  with an impressive total of  79. Ella Kue (King Mountain, NC 2023) finished runner-up after the two hole playoff also shooting an 79. Finishing in 3rd place with score off 79 is Parker Stalvey (Elgin, SC 2019). Breanna Trombetta (Poquoson, VA 2021) finished in 4th place with a score of 81.

The Champion of the Futures Division is Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023) with an impressive total of  76. Allison Lebo (North Augusta, SC 2022) finished runner-up, just 3 strokes behind the leader, with score of 79. Finishing in 3rd place with score off 81 is Izzy Stone (Beaufort, SC 2020). The Champion of the Discovery Division is Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) with an impressive total of two under par 34. Landry Hamm (Charlotte, NC 2027) finished runner-up with score of 48. Finishing in 3rd place with score off 62 is Sophia-Rayne Dickinson (Beaufort, SC 2028).

The PKBGT is back in action July 14-15th, 2018 with the Revo Girls Classic at the University of Maryland GC. We look forward to a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
