Preview: North Carolina One-Day Series at Bryan Park Golf Course (Players)

On Friday, July 6th, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the North Carolina One-Day Series at Bryan Park Golf Course.

The NC One-Day Series will include 11 One-Day tournaments in North Carolina, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The North Carolina One-Day Series event at Bryan Park Golf Course features a field of 44 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Featured in the 11 player Prep Series are Alyssa Cox (Mount Airy, NC 2019), Victoria Ladd (Greensboro, NC 2019) and Macie Burcham (Greensboro, NC 2021). Alyssa is currently ranked T12 on the Prep NC Order of Merit. She finished 4th at the Gate City Classic at Forest Oaks CC. Victoria is currently ranked 3rd on the Prep NC Order of Merit and placed 2nd at the Gate City Classic at Forest Oaks CC. Macie is currently ranked T38th on the Prep NC Order of Merit and has two 1st place finishes this season at the NC One-Day at Mill Creek and the Precision Jr. Girls Championship at Bryan Park GC (Champions).

Featured in the 21 player Futures Series are Tyler Spriggs (Cary, NC 2023), Heather Appelson (Wake Forest, NC 2023) and Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023). Tyler is currently ranked 2nd on the Futures NC Order of Merit and finished 1st at the NC One-Day at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. Heather is currently ranked 1st on the Futures NC Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at the Gate City Classic at Forest Oaks CC. Macy is currently ranked T7th on the Futures NC Order of Merit and finished 1st at the NC One-Day at Statesville CC.

Featured in the 12 player Discovery Series are Madison Dial (High Point, NC 2025), Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) and Ellen Yu (High Point, NC 2025). Madison is currently ranked 3rd on the Discovery NC Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at the NC One-Day Series at Monroe CC. Gracie is currently ranked 2nd in the Discovery NC Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at the NC One-Day Series at Statesville CC. Ellen is currently ranked 1st in the Discovery NC Order of Merit and was the champion of the NC One-Day at Longleaf Golf & Family Club and the NC One-Day at Mill Creek GC.

Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the NC One-Day Series at Bryan Park Golf Course (Players)! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-3 finishers in the Discovery Series. We look forward to a great event!
