Recap: NC One-Day Series at Statesville CC

On Sunday, June 24th, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the North Carolina One-Day Series event at Statesville Country Club.

The NC One-Day Series will include 11 One-Day tournaments in North Carolina, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The North Carolina One-Day Series event  at Statesville CC featured a field of 39 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Division was Chloe Holder (Williamston, SC 2021) with a score of #2-over par, 74. There was a two-way tie for 2nd place. Winning the scorecard playoff and finishing runner-up with a score of 76 was Mara Hirtle (Pinehurst, NC 2020). Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023) finished in 3rd place also with a score of 76. Finishing in 4th place was Emily Brubaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) with a score of 77.
