Preview: South Carolina One-Day Series at Spring Valley Country Club

On Saturday, June 16th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the  South Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at Spring Valley Country Club in Colombia, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

Featured in the 9 player Prep Series are Cori Langford (Blythewood, SC 2020), Ella Kue (King Mountain, NC 2023) and Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, NC 2022). Cori is currently ranked 39th on the Prep Southeast Order of Merit. She finished runner-up in the Futures National Division at the Coastal Carolina Classic at the Hackler Course. Ella is currently ranked T27th on the Prep Southeast Order of Merit. She has 2 wins this season: the Southeast Classic at Columbia Country Club and the PKBGT Masters at Greenville Country Club. Kennedy is currently ranked T23rd in the Prep Southeast Order of Merit and came T12 at the Palmetto Classic at the University of South Carolina.

Featured in the 18 player Futures Series are Regan Clifford (Mount Pleasant, SC 2020), Emily Baker (Chapin, SC 2022) and Camryn Lamp (Conover, NC 2021). Regan is currently ranked T16 on the Futures SC Order of Merit and finished in 4th place at the Coastal Carolina Classic at the Hackler Course. Emily is currently ranked 1st on the Futures SC Order of Merit and was named champion of the SC One-Day at the Members Club at Woodcreek. Camryn is currently ranked 3rd on the Futures SC Order of Merit and finished 3rd at the SC One-Day Series at the Members Club at Woodcreek.

Featured in the 3 player Discovery Series is Landry Ham (Charlotte, NC 2027). Landry  is currently ranked 3rd on the Discovery SC Order of Merit. She finished in 3rd place at the SC One-Day Series at the Members Club at Woodcreek.

Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the South Carolina One-Day Series event at Spring Valley Country Club! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-3 finishers in the Discovery Series. We look forward to a great event!
