Recap: NC One-Day Series at Mill Creek GC

On Friday, June 8th, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the North Carolina One-Day Series at Mill Creek Golf Club.

The NC One-Day Series will include 11 One-Day tournaments in North Carolina, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The North Carolina One-Day Series event  at Mill Creek Golf Club features a field of 40 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

There was a two-way tie for 1st place in the Prep Division. Macie Burcham (Greensboro, NC 2021) and Halynn Lee (Cary, NC 2021) both shot a round of 76. Ella was named the champion after winning the sudden death playoff on the second playoff hole with a par. Catherine finished runner-up and Tyler finished in 3rd place. Anna Claire Bridge (Raleigh, NC 2021) finished in 4th place with a score of 83.

The PKBGT is back in action this weekend with the Coastal Carolina Classic at the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University and the Central Florida Series Finale at LPGA International GC. We look forward to great events!
