Recap: South Carolina One-Day at The Members Club at Woodcreek

On Saturday, May 12, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the first South Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at The Members Club at Woodcreek in Elgin, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in South Carolina, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The first Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event  at Augustine GC features a full field of 53 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Division is Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023) with a score of 4-over par 75. Finishing runner-up with a score of 79 is Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019). Finishing in 3rd place is Madison Logan (Brasstown, NC 2022) with a score of 82. There was a two-way tie for 4th place. Kharynton Beggs (Charleston, SC 2019) finished in 4th place with a score of 83. Madilyn Richards finished in 5th place also with a score of 83.

There was a sudden death playoff in the Futures Division. The Champion of the Futures Division is Emily Baker (Chapin, SC 2022) with a score of 79. She won the sudden death playoff on the 6th hole. Finishing runner-up, also with a score of 79, is Lilia Joyce (Mt. Pleasant, SC 2019). Finishing in 3rd place is Camryn Lamp (Conover, NC 2021) with a score of 81. There was a two way tie for 4th place. Alexis Hodge (Lexington, SC 2022) finished in 4th place with a score of 82. Bethany Welch (Matthews, NC 2023) finished in 5th place also with a score of 82.
