Preview: South Carolina One-Day at The Members Club at Woodcreek

On Saturday, May 12, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour in partnership with the WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation plays the first South Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at The Members Club at Woodcreek in Elgin, SC.

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The first South Carolina One-Day Series event at The Members Club at Woodcreek features a full field of 30 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Featured in the 6 player Prep Series are Cori Langford (Blythewood, SC 2020), Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) and Cindy Song (Charlotte, NC 2023). Cori is currently ranked 39th on the Prep Southeast Order of Merit. She finished top-4 in the North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge CC and the Southeast Classic at Columbia CC. Featured in the 20 player Futures Series are Regan Clifford (Mount Pleasant, SC 2020), Emma Havmoeller (Charlotte, NC 2018) and Camryn Lamp (Conover, NC 2021). Regan is currently ranked 33rd on the Futures National Order of Merit and finished in top-8 in both the Southeast Classic at Columbia CC and the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill CC. Emma is currently ranked 28th on the Futures National Order of Merit and finished T6 at the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill CC. Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the first SC One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at The Members Club at Woodcreek! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-3 finishers in the Discovery Series. We look forward to a great event!
