Recap: PKBGT Collegiate Amateur at Salem Glen GC

On Sunday, August 5th, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the second and final round of the PKBGT Collegiate Amateur at Salem Glen Golf Club in Clemmons, North Carolina. The PKBGT Collegiate Amateur is the second collegiate event of the 2018 schedule. The event featured a field of 8 players, where they tackled the difficult Jack Nicklaus layout at 6,052 yards.

The champion of the collegiate amateur is Maya White (Fletcher, NC/Western Carolina University). White posted two consistent rounds of 74-75 (+4) to win by one stroke. White is a rising sophomore at Western Carolina University. Finishing right behind White is Olivia Zambruno (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Penn State University) who posted scores of 75-75 to earn a second place finish. White is also a rising sophomore at Penn State. In third place is Rebecca Black (Elizabethtown, KY/ UNC Asheville), a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, posted rounds of 79-75.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
