Recap: ProQuip Girls Classic at NC State Lonnie Poole GC

On July 21, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the ProQuip Girls Classic at NC State Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event featured a field of 65  players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,831 yards in the Bell National Division and 5,020 yards in the Futures National Division.

There was a two-way tie for 1st place in the Bell National Division. The Bell National Champion of the ProQuip Classic is Haley Quickel (Middletown, DE 2020) with a two-day total of 79-68-147. She also won the sudden death playoff on the first playoff hole. Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021) finished runner-up with a two-day total of 73-74-147. There was a two-way tie for 3rd place. Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022) and Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) both finished the weekend with totals of 149. Maria finished in 3rd place with the low day 2 score, 79-70-149. Paris finished in 4th place with scores of 74-75-149. There was also a two-way tie for 5th place. Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) and Catie Craig (Sautee Nacoochee, GA 2021) both finished the weekend with a total of 150. Catie finished in 5th place with the low day 2 score, 77-73-150. Kelley finished the weekend with scores of 73-77-150.

The Champion of the Futures National Division is Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023) with a two-day total of 74-70-144. Amber Mackiewicz (Virginia Beach, VA 2023) finished runner-up with scores of 76-70-146. McKenzie Daffin (Fort Bragg, NC 2021) finished in 3rd place with scores of 75-74-149. Finishing in 4th place with scores of 77-73-150 is Nicole Nash (Charlotte, NC 2023). Megan Morris (Cary, NC 2021) finishes in 5th place with scores of 76-75-151.

The PKBGT National Series is back in action August 3-5, 2018 for the Tour Championship at Salem Glen G&CC. We look forward to a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
