Update: PKBGT Collegiate Four-Ball at CC of Salisbury

On Sunday, May 27, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played round 1 of the PKBGT Collegiate Series Four-Ball Event #1 at Country Club of Salisbury. Salisbury, home of the Catawba College women’s golf team, is a tricky course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 6 alumni players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Leading the Collegiate Series after round 1 are Patricia Thompson (Appalachian State) and Abby Bolt (Appalachian State) with a round 1 score of 2-over par, 73. Currently in 2nd place after round 1 with a score of 77 are Cameron Wood (Western Carolina) and Maya White (Western Carolina). Alexandria Bare (UNC Pembroke) and Casey Burroughs (UNC Pembroke) currently sit in third place with a score of 78.  

Round 2 is scheduled to begin at 9:50 AM. We look forward to an exciting finish! 

The PKB Collegiate Series is a summer division for girls playing in or recently graduated from college golf. Players must be a current collegiate golfer or a recent graduate 25 years of age or younger. The yardages will be played between 5,800 and 6,200 yards. The next PKB Collegiate event is the PKBGT Collegiate Amateur at Salem Glen Golf & CC in Clemmons, NC on August 4-5, 2018. There is still time to register!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
