Update: Round 2 PKB Open Championship at CC of Salisbury

On Sunday, May 27, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour completed round 1 and finished round 2 of the PKBGT  OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP at Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, North Carolina. Round 1 of play was suspended at 7:15 PM on Saturday, May 26 due to severe weather in the area. The entirety of round 2 was completed. 

Salisbury, home of the Catawba College women’s golf team, has been a host course for the PKBGT since 2007. The PKBGT Open Championship is one of the longest running Championship events in PKB history, going on its 10th year at the Country Club of Salisbury. The event features a strong field of 90 players from Bell National and Futures National Series of the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. The event, ranked by the GolfWeek/Titliest national rankings, is the fifth championship tournament of the 2018 season. 

Currently tied for the lead in the Bell National Division is Danielle Suh (Herndon, VA 2020) and Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, NC 2019) at 2 over par, two-day total of 144 . Sitting in a tie for 3rd place at 3-over par, 145, is Melissa Meng (Blacksburg, VA 2020) and Sasha Hayes (Winston-Salem, NC 2020).  Currently sitting in fifth place is Melanie Green (Medina, NY 2020) with a two day total of 146, 4-over par. 

Currently leading the Futures National Division is Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC 2022) with a score of two under par, 72-68-140. Sitting in 2nd place with a score of 76-76-152 is Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021). In third place is Amber Mackiewicz (Virginia Beach, VA 2023) with a two-day total of 74-79-153. In fourth place is Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023) with a two day total of 74-80-154. Ella Kue (Kings Mountain, NC 2023) currently sits in 5th place with a score of 78-77-155.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
