On May 5, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake Course) in Sanford, NC. The event features a field of 49 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,794 yards in the Bell National Division and 5,273 yards in the Futures National Division.
Leading the Bell Division after round 1 is Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) with a score of 69 (-3) Caroline fired a 33 on the back nine to lead by 4 strokes. Currently in for 2nd place with a score of 73 is Kara Carter (Kingsport, TN 2021) and in 3rd place is Mara Hirtle (Pinehurst, NC 2020). In a tie for fourth place sits Abigayle Hatcher (Roebuck, SC 2019) and Sasha Hayes (Winston-Salem, NC 2020).
Leading the Futures Division after round 1 is Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021) with a score of 77. Currently in for 2nd place with a score of 80 is Isabella Adkins (Bristol, TN 2021) and in 3rd place is Maci Beaver (Roanoke Rapids, NC 2021). Chloe Pittman (Davidson, NC 2020) currently sits in 5th place with a score of 82 and Noelia Adkins (Bristol, TN 2021) is in 5th place with a score of 83.
Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in each division. We look forward to an exciting finish for round 2!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
