Recap: Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace Country Club

On May 5-6, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake Course) in Sanford, NC. The event features a field of 49 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,794 yards in the Bell National Division and 5,273 yards in the Futures National Division.

The Bell Division champion is Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) with a two day total of of 2 under par (69-73= 142). Curtis set the tournament scoring record with her 2 under total of 142! Taking home 2nd place with a two day total of 152 is Kara Carter (Kingsport, TN 2021) and 3rd place is Yeon Joo Kim (Seoul, Republic of Korea 2020) with a rounds of 81-73 (154). Mara Hirtle (Pinehurst, NC 2020) finished in 4th place with rounds of 75-80= 155. Abigayle Hatcher (Roebuck, SC 2019) rounded out the top 5 with a two-day total of 156 (78-78).

The Futures Division champion is Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021) with a two day total of 157 (77-80). Taking home 2nd place with a two day total of 159 (83-76) is Noelia Adkins (Bristol, TN 2021) and 3rd place is Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2020) with a rounds of 85-75 (160). Isabella Adkins (Bristol, TN 2021) finished in 4th place with rounds of 80-82= 162. Maci Beaver (Roanoke Rapids, NC 2021) rounded out the top 5 with a two-day total of 163 (81-82).

The PKBGT is back in action May 12th for the South Carolina One-Day Series at The Members Club at Woodcreek, and May 12-13 for the Pennsylvania Classic at Heritage Hills Resort in York, PA. We look forward to two great events!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
