On May 5-6, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake Course) in Sanford, NC. The event features a field of 51 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,794 yards in the Bell National Division and 5,273 yards in the Futures National Division.
Featured in the 21 player Bell Division are Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019), Kara Carter (Kingsport, TN 2021), Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) and Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019). Caroline is currently ranked 8th on the PKB Performance Index and finished in 1st place at the Palmetto Classic at Cobblestone Golf Club. Kara recently won the PKBGT Southeast Classic at Carolina Country Club and is ranked 55 on the Bell National Order of Merit. Paris is currently ranked 23rd on the Bell National Order of Merit and finished in 5th place at the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship at Hillendale Country Club. Bailee is currently ranked 35th on the Bell National Order of Merit and finished T10 at the PKBGT Masters at Greenville Country Club.
Featured in the 30 player Futures Division are Abby Hunter (Blacksburg, VA 2021), Megan Morris (Cary, NC 2021), Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023) and Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021). Abby is currently ranked 5th on the Futures National Order of Merit and finished in 3rd place at both the PKB Foundation Classic and the Tar Heel Classic. Megan is currently ranked 7th on the Futures National Order of Merit and finished runner-up at the PKBGT Masters at Greenville Country Club. Macy is currently ranked 4th on the Futures National Order of Merit and has finished top-10 in her last five PKBGT events. Grayson is currently ranked 10th on the Prep Preview Order of Merit and finished in 5th place at the Tar Heel Classic.
The Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace Country Club brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. We look forward to a great tournament!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 500 members in 2016 and over 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
