Recap: Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill CC

On April 28-29, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC. The event features a field of 67 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,868 yards in the Prep Southeast Division and 5,230 yards in the Futures National Division.

The Champion of the Prep Division is Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023) with a two-day total of 152. Song posted two consistent rounds of 76 to win by 2 strokes.  Finishing in a tie for 2nd place with two day totals of 154 were Rachel Rich( Mt Pleasant, SC 2020) and Anna McDonald (Hickory, NC 2019) . Savannah Hylton (Hilton Head Island, SC 2021) and Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) finished in a tie for fourth place with a two day total 155.

The Champion of the Futures Division is Elizabeth Lohbauer (Huntersville, NC 2021) with a two day total of 168. Finishing in a tie for 2nd place, just one stroke back from Lohbauer were Lillie Smith (Fort Mill, SC 2018) and Autumn Carey (Manning, SC 2022) with a two day total of 169. Madison Lynn Dixon (Inman, SC 2023) finished in fourth place with a two day total of 171. Finishing in 5th place with a two day total of 173 was Nicole Nash (Charlotte, NC 2023).

The PKBGT is back in action May 5th for the Mid-Atlantic One-Day Series at Augustine GC, and May 5-6 for the Carolina’s Classic at Carolina Trace. We look forward to two great events!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
