Recap: NC One-Day Series at Longleaf Golf and Family Club

On Sunday, April 22, the 2018 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first North Carolina One-Day Series event of the 2018 season at Longleaf Golf & Family Club.

The North Carolina One-Day Series will include 11 One-Day tournaments in North Carolina, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The first North Carolina One-Day Series event  at Longleaf G&FC features a full field of 72 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Division was Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC 2022) with a score of 74. Her victory at Longleaf marked her 3rd PKBGT title of 2018. The PKBGT NC One-Day Series returns to action on May 19 with the NC One-Day Series at Monroe CC. There is still time to register! We look forward to a great event.
