Recap: Hawkins and Greene Win at Palmetto Classic

— Live Scoring —

This weekend, the PKBGT played the Palmetto Classic at Cobblestone Park Golf Club. Cobblestone Park, home of the University of South Carolina women’s golf team, was a strong test for the two-day tournament.  The event featured a field of 61 players from eight different states.

The girls had their work cut out for them managing strong winds. However, in the end, the weather was no test for the PKBGT girls!  Winning the Bell Series was Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018) with rounds of 69-71-146 which is six-over par for the tournament.  The runner-up today was Jaylen Castle (West Columbia, SC 2020) with another two solid rounds of 73-77-150.  In third place, with a scorecard tie-break was Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with rounds of 78-76-154, which left Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) with the fourth place finish scoring 77-77-154.  Fifth place went to Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) with rounds of 79-76-155.

The Prep Series title was claimed by Carleigh Green (Anderson, SC 2017) with scores of 86-79-165.  Tatum McKelvey (Sewickley, PA 2019) won the scorecard tie-break securing second place with scores of 83-85-168. That left Ana Tsiros (Asheville, NC 2019) with third place, scoring 83-85-168 on the weekend. Rounding out fourth place was Loralie Cowart (Winston, GA 2021) with scores of 85-85-170.  In fifth place was Amanda Tully (Brewster, NY 2018) with rounds of 85-87-172.
