Recap: Last Chance Invitational Qualifier @ Colonial CC

On Sunday, October 29, 2017 the PKBGT played the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC.  There were 36 players from 5 different states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia) competing in the event to earn an invitation to the 2017 PKBGT Invitational at Grandover Resort on November 11-13, 2017. The Invitational will bring together the top players on the East Coast and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girl’s Golf Tour, the nations largest “girl’s only” golf tour. Players earn their spots through play on the PKBGT or through accomplishments during the year in junior girls’ golf. The PKBGT Invitational will kick-off of the 2018 PKBGT tour season.

Winning the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier was Jillian Drinkard (Appomattox, VA 2018) with a 6-over par, 77 par. In a tie for second place was Hannah Rose Bruxvoort and Bailee Twiford. Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) place second with a score of 78.  Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019) finished in third place also with a 78. Taking fourth place was Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC 2020) with a score of 79.

The three players earning an invitation in to the 2017 PKBGT Invitational are:

  1.  Jillian Drinkard (Appomattox, VA 2020) – 77
  2. Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019) – 78
  3. Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC 2020) – 79

The Invitational will take place on November 11-13, 2017.  We look forward to a great tournament!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
