Preview: Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Colonial CC

On Sunday, October 29, 2017 the PKBGT will play the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC. There are 42 players from 5 different states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia) competing in the event to earn an invitation to the 2017 PKBGT Invitational at Grandover Resort on November 11-13, 2017. The Invitational will bring together the top players on the East Coast and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girl’s Golf Tour, the nations largest “girl’s only” golf tour. Players earn their spots through play on the PKBGT or through accomplishments during the year in junior girls’ golf. The PKBGT Invitational will kick-off of the 2018 PKBGT tour season.

Featured in the 2017 Last Chance Invitational Qualifier this weekend are Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019), Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020), and Deborah Spair (Raleigh, NC 2020).  Bailee is currently ranked in 27th on the Prep Order of Merit – NC and has five top-5 finishes with the PKBGT this year.  Vynie is currently ranked 3rd in the Futures Order of Merit – MA and finished top-3 in 4 PKBGT events this year. Deborah is currently ranked 31st in the Prep Order of Merit – NC and had four top-10 finishes this year with the PKBGT.

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Qualifier field, and the top-3 finishers who are NOT currently in the Invitational field will earn a spot to the 2017 PKBGT Invitational field.  The Champion of the tournament will also receive an invitation to the 2017 PKBGT Tournament of Champions, December 2-3, 2017.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
