Update: Four Tied after the First Round of the MA Series Finale at Fawn Lake CC

On Saturday, September 30, 2017 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Middle Atlantic Series Finale at Fawn Lake CC in Spotsylvania, VA.  This event wraps up the MA One-Day Series Events of the 2017 season.

We have a four way tie for the lead of the Prep Series . The leaders after all firing a 4-over par 76 are Elizabeth Coffren (Owings, MD 2020) , Rory Weinfurther (Midlothian, VA 2020), Danielle Suh (Herndon, VA 2020), and Rebecca DiNunzio (Norfolk, VA 2019). Sitting 1 shot back in a tie for 5th place is Hannah Hankim (Potomac, MD 2021) and Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) after a first round scores of 5-over par, 77. Its going to be a tight race to the finish tomorrow!

Leading the Futures Series with a first round score of 3-over par 76 is Liza Lapeyre (New Orleans, LA 2022). In second place is Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020) with a first round score of 77. Currently in third place is Julie Shin (Brambleton, VA 2022) with a score of 78. In fourth place is Alice Zou (Potomac, MD 2022) with a score of 79. Rounding out the top five is Sue Lee (Lorton, VA 2022) with a score of 80 in the first round.

Leading the Discovery Series after round one is Amelia Cho (Ashburn, VA 2024), who finished the day at even par, 36. Currently in the runner-up spot is Emily Wang (McIean, VA 2024) who finished the day with a score of 39. Sitting in third place is Sarah Wang (McIean, VA 2025) who finished the day at 43.

It will be an exciting finish on Sunday!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
