On Saturday, September 16, 2017 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour will play the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at Kenwood G&CC. One-day tournaments are University of Maryland GCdesigned for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf.  The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.  The tournament features a field of 52 players and includes the Prep, Futures, and Discovery Series.

Featured in the Prep Series are Hannah Hankim (Potomac, MD 2021), Katie Park (Farifax, VA 2022), and Hannah Jonely (Ashburn, VA 2020). They look to continue their success this weekend at Kenwood G&CC in Bethesda, MD.

The top-5 finishers in the Prep Middle Atlantic Order of Merit will receive an invitation to the 2017 PKBGT Invitational at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. The tournament is a signature event of the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Tour each November.

Featured in the Futures Series are Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020), Julie Shin (Brambleton, VA 2022), and Sue Lee (Lorton, VA 2022). Featured in the Discovery Series are 16 players from Virginia, Maryland, and DC. This is our largest Discovery Series field of the year. Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Discovery Series.

We look forward to a great event!

The PKBGT has partnered with the Middle Atlantic PGA and will host events in Virginia and Maryland.  The series will feature three divisions: Prep, Futures, and Discovery.  On the day of each of the Middle Atlantic Series events, players are welcome to attend our “Introduction to Tournament Golf” workshops.  The workshops are designed to promote and increase participation among middle and high school age developmental female golfers.  Topics covered at the workshops will include learning to become comfortable playing competitive golf, learning basic rules of golf, and building confidence on the course.
