Recap: McDonald, Logan Win Southeast Series Finale @ Cobbs Glen CC

On Sunday, August 26-27, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played final round of the Southeast Series Finale @ Cobbs Glen CC. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 19 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series was Anna McDonald (Hickory, NC 2019), with a two-day total of 76-76-152. Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) took second place, finishing the weekend with 82-82-164 Just 2 strokes behind them was Chloe Holder (Willianston, SC 2021), taking 3rd place, with a two-day total of 81-85-166. Taking 4th place was Katelyn Lee (Easley, SC 2020) finishing the weekend at 80-90-170.

In the Futures Series, Madison Logan (Brasstown, NC 2022) claimed 1st place, finishing the weekend with a two-day total of 79-81-160. Finishing in 2nd place, with a scores of 87-81-168 was Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023). Mattie Padgett (Seneca, Sc 2023) finished with scores of 91-87-178, finishing the day in 3rd place. Taking 4th place was Lilian Alexander (Duncan, SC 2024) finishing the weekend at 95-91-186.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
