On Saturday, August 26, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the NC One-Day Open Series at Pinehurst No. 9. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 62 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Prep Series field features Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020), Sasha Hayes (Winston Salem, NC 2020), and Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC 2020). Fox is coming into the tournament ranked 18th in the Prep NC Order of Merit and finishing T6 at the Precision Jr. Girls’ Championship at Bryan Park. Hayes is currently ranked 7th in the Prep NC Order of Merit and finished runner-up at the PKBGT Tour Championship at Salem Glen GC. Boyd is currently ranked T68 in the Prep NC Order of Merit and is coming off of a 1st place finish at the SC One-Day Series at Spring Valley CC. They look to continue their success this weekend at Pinehurst No. 9.

Featured in Futures Series field is Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021), Morgan Ketchum (Winston Salem, NC 2022), and Katelyn Kenthack (Pinehurst, NC 2020). Warren is currently ranked 33rd in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and placed 3rd at the PKBGT Tour Championship at Salem Glen GC. Ketchum is currently ranked 17th in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and finished top-5 in her last three PKB events. Kenthack is currently ranked 3rd in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and finished top-5 in her last two PKB events. They look to continue their success this weekend at Pinehurst No. 9.

Featured in the 9-player Discovery Series are Madison Dial (High Point, NC 2025), Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026), and Ella Yu (High Point, NC 2023). Dial is currently ranked 1st in the Discovery Order of Merit – NC and  finished runner-up at her last NC One-Day Series event at Mill Creek. Kennedy is currently ranked T6 in the Discovery Order of Merit – NC and has finished 1st in her last two PKB One-Day events. Yu is currently ranked 2nd in the Discovery Order of Merit – NC and finished runner-up at her last PKB event at Bryan Park GC.

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-2 finishers in the Discovery Series.

The One-Day Open Series at Pinehurst No. 9 brings together players from North and South Carolina. We look forward to a great event!
