Preview: TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at Salem Glen Golf Club

On Friday-Sunday, August 4-6, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Tour Championship at Salem Glen Golf Club in Clemmons, NC. Salem Glen Golf Club was the host of the PKBGT Masters from 2011-2014, and is in great shape for the eighth major tournament of the 2017 season.  The event features a field of 40 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Bell Division field features 22 golfers, highlighted by 8 of the top-35 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) ranked 1st, Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) ranked 13th, Anna McDonald (Hickory, NC 2019) ranked 15th, Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) ranked 18th, Emelia Pack (Browns Summit, NC 2019) ranked 23rd, Grace Jones (Hayesville, NC 2020) ranked 24th, Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) ranked 28th, and Skylar Sload (Ashburn, VA 2018) ranked 34th.

The Futures Division field features 18 golfers, highlighted by 11 of the top-40 players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Hannah Nall (Cleveland, TN 2022) ranked 1st, Erin Singleton (Apex, NC 2020) ranked 5th, Halynn Lee (Cary, NC 2021) ranked 11th, Grace Holcomb (Wilmington, NC 2021) ranked 15th, Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC 2022) ranked 16th, Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021) ranked 22nd, Lauren Denhard (Salisbury, NC 2019) ranked 23rd, Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023) ranked 30th, Emma Chen (Derwood, MD 2022) ranked T33rd, and Kayla Dowell (Mebane, NC 2021) ranked 36th.

The Tour Championship at Salem Glen brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. Who will be golden?

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
