Recap: Hayes, Denhard, and Dial Win NC One-Day Series at Bermuda Run CC (West)

On Saturday, July 29, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the North Carolina One-Day Series at Bermuda Run Country Club (West Course). The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of # players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series by 1 shot was Sasha Hayes (Winston-Salem, NC 2020) after posting a score of 78 for the day. Following in second place with a score of 79 was Mackensi Hall (Graham, NC 2018). In third place with a score of 80 was Nicole Kramer (Charlottle, NC 2018). Rounding out our top four in a two-way tie was Emilee Wenmoth (Clemmons, NC 2017) and Michaela Cox (Greensboro, NC 2017) both with a score of 82.

The Champion of the Futures Series was Lauren Denhard (Salisbury, NC 2019) after firing a  6 over par, 77. Only 1 stroke behind, finishing in second was Morgan Ketchum (Winston-Salem, NC 2022) with a score of 78. Finishing in third place was Hannah Lindemann (Charlotte, NC 2021) with a score of 84. In fourth place was Makena Witt (Salem, VA 2019) with a score of 85.

The Champion of the Discovery Series was Madison Dial (High Point, NC 2025), with a nine hole score of 48. Discovery Series runner-up was Sally Toalson (Advance, NC 2024), finishing the day at nine hole score of 59.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
