Preview: NC One-Day Series @ Bryan Park Golf Course

On Monday, July 24, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the NC One-Day Series event  at Bryan Park Golf Course. Bryan Park, home of the UNCG women’s golf team, is a brilliant course for this one day tournament. The event features a field 53 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour .

The Prep Series field features 19 golfers. Some top players in the field are, Sasha Hayes (Charlotte, NC 2020), Muskan Uppal (Cornelius, NC 2019), and Emelia Pack (Browns Summit, NC 2019). Sasha is currently ranked 12th in the Prep Order of Merit – NC and finished T3 in her last NC One-Day Series appearance at Forest Oaks CC. Muskan is currently ranked T21 in the Bell National Division Series Order of Merit and finished T13 at the Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge Symetra Qualifier. Emelia is currently ranked 1st in the Prep Series Order of Merit – NC and finished T6 at the Wolfpack Classic. Each player looks to continue their success next week at the Bryan Park GC.

The Futures Series field features 30 golfers.  A few of the top players in the Futures One-Day Order of Merit in the field includes, Harper Shepherd (Greensboro, NC 2021), Anika Bhatnagar (Cary, NC 2020), and Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023). Harper is currently ranked T20 in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and finished T6 at the NC One-Day Series at Pine Island CC. Anika is currently ranked 7th in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and finished T4 in her last NC One-Day appearance at MacGregor Downs CC. Macy is currently ranked 1st in the Futures Order of Merit – NC and has place top-10 in her last 4 PKBGT events. Each player looks to continue their success next week at Bryan Park GC.

The Discovery Series field features 4 golfers from North Carolina.

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Divisions, and the top-2 finishers in the Discovery Division. It should be a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
