Recap: Barefoot, Jordan, Kennedy Win SC One-Day Series @ The Carolina Country Club

On Saturday, July 22, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the South Carolina One-Day Open Series at The Carolina Country Club. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 36 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series was Marley Barefoot (West Columbia, SC 2019), with a final score of 80 on the day. There was a three way tie for 2nd place. A scorecard playoff determined the winners. Just one stroke behind the leader at 81 was Kathryn Elliott (Coats, NC 2018), taking 2nd place. Telie McCoy (Early Branch, SC 2019) took 3rd, shooting 81. Finishing in 4th place was Emma Reid (Flat Rock, NC 2018) shooting 81.

In the Futures Series, Madison Jordan (Anderson, SC 2018) shot the low round of the day, finishing the day at 78, claiming 1st place. Jasmine Donaghue (Candler, NC 2020) and Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020) both finished the day at 79. A scorecard playoff determined the winners. Jasmine took 2nd place, and Amber took 3rd.  Madison Lynn Dixon (Inman, SC 2023) shot an 81, finishing the day in 4th place.

In the Discovery Series, Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026) finished in 1st place, shooting 54 on nine holes. Mia Andrade (Irmo, SC 2025) claimed 2nd place, shooting 58 on nine holes.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
