Preview: SC One-Day Series @ The Carolina Country Club

On Saturday, July 22, 2017, the PKBGT will be playing the South Carolina One-Day Series Event at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, SC.  The South Carolina One-Day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of  South Carolina One-Day Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

Featured in the Prep Series are Emma Reid (Flat Rock, NC 2018), Kathryn Elliott (Coats, NC 2018), and Mary Kathryn Talledo (Blythewood, SC 2021). Emma is currently ranked 41st in the Prep Order of Merit – SE and finished top-5 in her last SC One-Day Series appearance. Kathryn has finished top-5 in her last two NC One-Day Series appearances. Mary Kathryn is currently ranked 5th in the Prep Order of Merit – SE and has had two top-5 finishes in her last two SC One-Day Series appearances.

Featured in the Futures Series are Madison Lynn Dixon (Inman, SC 2023), Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023), and Mattie Padgett (Seneca, SC 2023). Madison is currently ranked 7th in the Futures Order of Merit – SC and has finished top-3 in her last two SC One-Day Series appearances. Abby is currently ranked 12th in the Futures Order of Merit – SC and has finished top-10 in her last two SC One-Day Series appearances. Mattie is currently ranked T4 in the Futures Order of Merit – SC and finished runner-up in her last SC One-Day Series event at Columbia CC.

Featured in the Discovery Series are Mia Andrade (Irmo, SC 2025) and Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026). Mia is currently ranked 2nd in the Discovery Order of Merit – SC and finished 2nd at the SC One-Day Series at Woodside Plantation. Alexandra is currently ranked 1st in the Discovery Order of Merit – SC and has finished top-3 in her last two SC One-Day Series appearances.

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-2 finishers in the Discovery Series. We look forward to a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
