Recap: Isaacson, Atwood Win 2GG Apparel Championship

The 2017 2GG Apparel Girls Golf Championship at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course completed day 2 of the 36 hole event.  2GG Apparel, a clothing line and sponsor of the PKBGT, was founded by MLB All-Star pitcher Russ Ortiz after his retirement in 2010.  Ortiz is an avid golfer and 100% of the proceeds from 2GG Apparel are donated to charity.    

In the Bell Series, Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018) claimed 1st place with rounds of 69, 79 totaling 148 on the weekend.  Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019) finished the weekend in 2nd place with rounds of 75, 76 with a two-day total of 151. Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019) placed 3rd shooting 78, 74 with a two-day total of 152. Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018) placed 4th shooting 76, 78 with a two-day total of 154. Emma Charles (Hartsville, SC 2019) placed 5th shooting 77, 79 with a two-day total of 156.

In the Futures Series, Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022) finished in 1st place, ending the day with an impressive round of 68, giving her a two-day total of 146. Loralie Cowart (Winston, GA 2021) placed 2nd shooting 76, 78 with a two-day total of 154. Sydney Grimes (Suffolk, VA 2019) finished in 3rd place, shooting 80, 78 with a two-day total of 158. There was a two-way tie for 4th place, which was decided by the second round score. Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021) placed 4th, shooting 84, 76 with a two-day total of 160. Regan Clifford (Mount Pleasant, SC 2020) place 5th, shooting 82, 78 with a two-day total of 160.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
