Preview: 2GG Apparel Championship @ Coastal Carolina

The PKBGT will be hosting the 2GG Apparel Championship on Saturday-Sunday, July 15-16, 2017 at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course.  2GG Apparel, a sponsor of the PKBGT, was founded by MLB All-Star pitcher Russ Ortiz after his retirement in 2010.  Oritz is an avid golfer and 100% of the proceeds from 2GG Apparel are donated to charity.    

Featured in the Bell Series are Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019), Abigayle Hatcher (Roebuck, SC 2019), and Parker Melting (Mint Hill, NC 2018).  Fobes is currently ranked 33rd in the Bell National Division Series Order of Merit and placed T3 at the Precision Junior Girls’ Championships at Bryan Park.  Hatcher finished T16 in the Wolfpack Classic at NC State Lonnie Poole GC. Melting finished T16 in the PKBGT Open Championship presented by Bargray at the Country Club of Salisbury. They all look to continue their success next weekend at the 2GG Apparel Championship.

Featured in the Futures Series are Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022), Loralie Cowart (Winston, GA 2021), and Danielle Buompastore (Hoover, AL 2018).  Atwood is currently ranked 3rd in the Futures National Division and clinched 1st place at the Wolfpack Classic.  Cowart is currently ranked 12th in the Futures National Division and was the Futures Champion at the PKBGT Open Championships. Buompastore is currently ranked T45 in the Futures National Division and finished T3 in the Precision Junior Girls’ Championships. Everyone looks to continue their success next weekend at the 2GG Apparel Championship.

Awards will be presented to the top six finishers in each Series, and all players will receive a jacket courtesy of 2GG Apparel!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
