Recap: 2017 LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Team Championship @ Chateau Elan GC

On Saturday, July 8, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Team Championship at Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, GA. The event featured a field 21 players from different LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Programs across the country.

 

 

The second round of the event was a Best Ball format where each player plays her own ball and the lower score of the two players is the team score for each hole. In the Championship Division, Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018) and Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019) shot one under par with a score of 71 to place first with a two-day total of 153. In the Futures Division, Hannah Lindemann (Charlotte, NC 2021) and Shea Smith (Charlotte, NC 2022) shot three over par with a score of 75 to place first with a two-day total of 160. In the Discovery Division, Savannah Hawkins (Hurricane, WV 2024) and Taylor Sargent (Milton, WV 2023) shot two under par with a score of 34 to place first with a two-day total of 71.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
