Recap: Sambach, Muthomi Win the Precision Jr. Girls Championships at Bryan Park

On Thursday, June 22, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the the final round of the PGS JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP at Bryan Park Golf Course (Champions Course). Bryan Park, home to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans golf teams, is a fantastic venue for the fourth championship event of the season. The event features a field 50 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour.  

Winning the Bell Series is Amanda Sambach (Davidson, NC 2021) after back to back scores of 1-under, 71, for a total of 2-under 142. Finishing in second is Olivia John (Summerfield, NC 2018) after following her round of even par, 72 with a round of 76, for a total of 148. Finishing in a tie for 3rd is Hailey Joy (Reidsville, NC 2018) and Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019) with a two day total of 150. Rounding out the Top-5 was Tomita Arejola (Aliso Viejo, CA 2018) with a second round score of even par, 72, to move up the leaderboard on the final day.

PLAYOFF in the Futures Series!  We had a playoff between Hannah Nall (Cleveland, TN 2022) and Trinity Muthomi (Kernersville, NC 2022) after they tied at the end of regulation play with two day totals of 155. The playoff we back to hole 18 where Trinity hat a great second shot in and two putted for the win. Congratulations to both ladies for their great play this week! Finishing in a tie for 3rd was Sitting in 3rd Laney Wessels (Sophia, NC 2021)and Danielle Buompastore (Hoover, AL 2018) both with two day totals of 160. Rounding out the Top-5 was Macie Burcham (Greensboro, NC 2021) with a two day total of 164.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
