Recap: Talledo, Erwin, Kennedy Win at Woodside Plantation

On Saturday, June 17, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the South Carolina One-Day Open Series at Woodside Plantation CC. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 29 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series was Mary Kathryn Talledo (Blythewood, SC 2021), firing a 79. She was followed Lauren Martin (Mooresville, NC 2020) with a score of  83. Rounding out the top three was Telie McCoy (Early Branch, SC 2019) with a 87. Finishing in fourth place was Jordan Kirkley (McBee, SC 2019) with a score of 98.

In the Futures Series, Olivia Erwin (Charleston, SC 2019) shot the low round of the day with a 78. Following her in second place with an 82 was Claire Owens (Charlotte, NC 2019). Rounding out the top-3 was Madelyn Richards (Blythewood, SC 2018) with an 84. Caleigh Noonan and Hallie Boles tied for fourth place. A scorecard playoff determined the winner. Caleigh Noonan (Greenville, SC 2021) claimed fourth place, with a score of 86.

In the Discovery Series, Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026) came in 1st place with a score of 49 for 9 holes. Mia Andrade (Irmo, SC 2025) was runner-up, scoring a 57. Coming in 3rd place with a score of 66 was Danielle Harmon (Simpsonville, SC 2026).

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
