Recap: Guyton and Kue Win SC One-Day at The Windermere Club

On Saturday, May 13, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the inaugural event of the South Carolina One-Day Open Series of the 2017 season at The Windermere Club. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 34 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series by one shot was Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019) firing an 84. She was followed closely by Abigayle Hatcher (Roebuck, SC 2019) with a score of  85. Rounding out the top three was Molly Hardwick (Lexington, SC 2022) only two strokes behind the leader, with an 86. A scorecard playoff was the tie breaker for fourth and fifth place. Finishing in fourth place was Ashley Looper (Marietta, SC 2019) with a score of 87, and coming in at fifth place was Cecelia Knecht (North Charleston, SC 2019) also with a score of 87.

In the Futures Series, Ella Kue (King Mountain, NC 2023) shot the low round of the day with a 79. Following her in second place with an 84 was Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020). Rounding out the top-3 was Shae Payne (Rock Hill, SC 2020) with an 88. Coming in fourth place was Shea Smith (Charlotte, NC 2022) with a score of 89.

Our next SC One-Day Series event is the SC One-Day Series Event @ Mid Carolina Club in Prosperity, SC. There is still time to register!
