–Live Scoring–

On Sunday, May 7th, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the final round of the Carolina’s Classic @ Carolina Trace CC. Carolina Trace Country Club, site of the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier, proved a challenging course for this two-day event. The event features a field of 41 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour.

In the Prep Division, Citadel verbal commit Mackenzie Battle (2018, Aberdeen, NC) held on for her first PKBGT Classic title with rounds of 69-80-149.  She claimed a 3-shot lead over hard charging Sasha Hayes (2020, Winston-Salem, NC) who fired a 3-under 33 on the back nine in the 2nd round to finish at 78-74-152.  UNC Greensboro verbal commit Hailey Joy (2018, Reidsville, NC) placed third with scores of 75-79-154.

In the Futures Division, Halynn Lee (2021, Cary, NC) posted the low round of round 2, 75, to claim a one-shot victory.  Lee’s scores of 83-75-158 bested first round leader Maria Atwood (2022, Holly Springs, NC) by one shot.  Cindy Song (2023, Waxhaw, NC), in her first PKBGT event, placed third with scores of 85-80-165.

PKBGT returns to action in two weeks with the PKBGT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP on May 27-29 at Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, NC. This is the second major of the year, bringing together the top players in the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic. It should be an exciting & challenging event. Who will be golden?
