Preview: Metrolina Classic at Winthrop Univeristy

On Saturday-Sunday, April 29-30th, the PKBGT will play the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC.  The course is home to the Winthrop University women’s golf team.  The filed features 45 players from four different states in the Prep and Futures Series.

Competing in the Prep Series next week are Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020), Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018), and the 2015 champion Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017).  Tindal, who has committed to playing golf at Mercer University when she graduates in 2017, looks to take home the title for a second time.  Nicole Adam has had success on the links this year, winning the PKB Junior and multiple top-10 finishes.  Madison Isaacson is committed to play for JMU when she graduates in 2018 and is a winner this year at the North Carolina Classic.

Competing in the Futures Series are Angelique Seymour (Fayetteville, NC 2019), Morgan Ellison (Peachtree City, GA 2021), and Catherine Stoerker (Cumming, GA 2020).  Seymour is 8th on the Futures Series Order of Merit and has finished 2nd in her last three events, she is looking to berak out her first win on the PKBGT. Ellison is looking to keep up her good play at Rock Hill after a second place finish this Saturday at the Georgia One-Day Series at Braelinn GC. Stoerker is 16th on the Futures Series Order of Merit and had a top-10 finish at the Tar Heel Classic and a win at the first Georgia One-Day Series.

Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in each series.  We look forward to another great event and welcome all of our new players to the PKBGT!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
