Update: Sambach, Nall Lead PKBGT MASTERS @ Greenville CC

On Saturday-Sunday, April 22-23, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the PKBGT MASTERS at Greenville Country Club. Greenville Country Club, home of the East Carolina University Pirates women’s golf team, is a classic course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 71 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. In 2016,  Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) claimed the title by 5 strokes with  steady play both days finishing with a  4-over par 2-day total of 150.  The event is the third championship tournament of the 2017 season.

Leading the Bell Series after the first round is Amanda Sambach, (Davidson, NC 2021) who fired a one-under par 71 to lead by two strokes over Michelle Harn  (Charlotte, NC 2019) who shot a 73.  In a four-way tie for third at 75 are Olivia John  (Summerfield, NC 2018), Mackenzie Battle  (Aberdeen, NC 2018) Kathryn Carson  (Mooresville, NC 2017) and Sarah Funderburg  (Wilmington, NC 2018).

Leading the Prep Series in a tie for first place with an opening round of 80 is Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) and Lauren Martin (Mooresville, NC 2020). In a three way tie for second at 83 is Charleigh Hodges (Mooresville, NC 2018), Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, VA 2020), and Bailee Twiford  (Coinjock, NC 2019).

Leading the Futures Series after round one is Hannah Nall (Cleveland, TN 2022) with a round of 74.  In second place with a 75 is Tatum Walsh (Midlothian, VA 2021).  In third place with an opening round of 78 is Trinity Muthomi (Kernersville, NC 2022).

The PKBGT MASTERS at Greenville Country Club brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Delaware, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament! Who will be golden?

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
