Recap: Sambach, Hodges, Nall Win PKBGT MASTERS @ Greenville CC

 

 

On Saturday-Sunday, April 22-23, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the PKBGT MASTERS at Greenville Country Club. Greenville Country Club, home of the East Carolina University Pirates women’s golf team, is a classic course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 71 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. In 2016,  Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) claimed the title by 5 strokes with  steady play both days finishing with a  4-over par 2-day total of 150.  The event is the third championship tournament of the 2017 season.

 

Winning the Bell Series was Amanda Sambach, (Davidson, NC 2021) with rounds of 71-77-148 that clinched the title by two strokes over Kathryn Carson  (Mooresville, NC 2017) who shot 75-75-150.  In third place was Michelle Harn (Charlotte, NC 2019) with rounds of 73-79-152.  In fourth place was Panchalika Arphamongkol (Rockville, MD 2020).  In fifth was Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019).

 

Winning the Prep Series was Charleigh Hodges (Mooresville, NC 2018) with rounds of 83-79-162.  In second place was Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) with rounds of 80-83-163.  In third place was Ellie Martin (Murphy, NC 2019) with rounds of 87-80-167.  In fourth place was Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019) with rounds of 83-85-168.  In fifth place was Lauren Martin (Mooresville, NC 2020) with rounds of 80-88-168.

 

Winning the Futures Series was Hannah Nall (Cleveland, TN 2022) with a rounds of 74-77-151.  In second place with rounds of 79-75-154 was Erin Singleton (Apex, NC 2020).  In third place with rounds of 81-76-157 was Katie Park (Fairfax, VA 2022).  In fourth place with rounds of 75-83-158  was Tatum Walsh (Midlothian, VA 2021).  In fifth place was Caroline Bryant (New Been, NC 2018) with rounds of 79-83-162.

The PKBGT returns to action with the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club on April 29-30.  

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
