Preview: NC One-Day Series @ Forest Oaks CC

On Saturday, April 15, 2017 the PKBGT will play the NC One-Day Series at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC.  This course is known for the PGA Tour event that was held there for 30 years: the Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO).  This is also a preview event for the 2017 PKBGT season.

Featured in the Prep event this week are Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018), Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019), and Taylor Hinson (Belmont, NC 2017).  Wotnosky is currently ranked in 2nd on the PKBGT Performance Index and had a win this season at the Tournament Of Champions at Pinehurst No. 8.  Hinson is ranked 36 on the Performance Index and Smith is 41st on the Performance Index.

Featured in the NC Futures Series this week are Trinity Muthomi (Kernersville, NC 2022), Layla Meric (Wesley Chapel, NC 2021), and Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC 2022). Muthomi has had a great start to her PKBGT career with 3 Top-3 finishes in four events this season. Meric is another player who is having a stellar year on the PKBGT. She has had 4 Top-5 finishes in 6 starts this season. Millard  has had two Top-10 finishes in her last starts this year and looking to keep her steady play going. There are many new comers to this event as well!

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers at this event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
