Recap: Isaacson, Atwood Win North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge

On Saturday-Sunday, April 1-2,  the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge Country Club. Sapona Ridge, host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, is a demanding course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 59 players for this event. 

Winning the Prep Series with two solid rounds of 79-76-155 was Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018). In second place was Caroline Duggan (Holly Springs, NC 2019) with rounds of 81-77-158.  In a three-way tie for third place with 159 totals were Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC 2018), Nina Kouchi (Matthews, NC 2018) and  Rachel Mast (Lexington, NC 2017).  

Winning the Futures Series with an of 80-79-159 total  was Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022).  In second place with rounds of 84-81-165 was Angelique Seymour (Fayetteville, NC 2019).  In third place with rounds of 81-88-169 was Trinity Muthoumi (Kernersville, NC 2022).  In fourth place was Layla Meric (Wesley Chapel, NC 2022) with rounds of 87-86-173.  In fifth place matching cards was Madison Logan (Brasstown, NC 2022) with rounds of 89-89-178.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
