Recap: Cahill, Pack Win at Palmetto Classic

— Live Scoring —

On Saturday-Sunday, March 19-20, the PKBGT played the Palmetto Classic at Cobblestone Park Golf Club. Cobblestone Park, home of the University of South Carolina women’s golf team, was a strong test for the two-day tournament.  The event featured a field of 61 players from eight different states.

The girls had their work cut out for them managing summer-like temperatures during round one and then fighting against the cold weather for round two.  In the end, the weather was no test for the PKBGT girls!  Winning the Bell Series is Caroline Cahill (Wilmington, NC 2017) with rounds of 73-71-144 which is two-over par for the tournament.  The runner-up today was Baylee Evans (Lancaster, SC 2018) with another two solid rounds of 74-72-146.  In third place not far behind was Keri Kenkel (Charlotte, NC 2017) with rounds of 73-76-149.  Matching cards in a tie for fourth and fifth respectively was Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) with 75-76-151 and Alexandra Swayne (Maineville, OH 2018) with rounds of 70-81-151.

The Futures Series title was claimed Emelia Pack (Browns Summit, NC 2019) with scores of 76-75-151.  Pack 2-shot victory is her first PKBGT victory.  PKBGT newcomer and Round 1 leader Parker Stalvey (Elgin, SC 2019) finished 2nd with scores of 69-84-153.  Hannah Grace Nall (Cleveland, TN 2022) took 3rd with scores of 78-77-155.

The PKBGT returns to action during Spring Break on Monday, March 28th with the Carolina’s Mixed Team Challenge at MacGregor Downs Country Club.
