On Saturday, November 5, 2016 the PKBGT will play the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC. This course is known for the PGA Tour event that was held there for 30 years: the Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO). This is also a preview event for the 2017 PKBGT season.
Featured in the preview event this week are Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018), Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019), and Hailey Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018). Wotnosky is currently ranked in 5th on the Bell Series Order of Merit and had a win this year at the PGS Girls’ Championship. Smith had two top-10 finishes this year and Freedman had a win this year at the 2GG Apparel Championship.
Awards will be presented to the top-3 finishers and the top-5 finishers will earn an invitation to the 2016 PKBGT Invitational. The winner will also receive an invitation to the PKBGT Tournament of Champions.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
