Update: Curtis, Petersen Lead 8th Jimmy Anderson Invitational at Jacksonville CC

The Jacksonville Country Club Board of Directors have announced the dates for the eight annual Jimmy Anderson Girls’ Invitational to honor Mr. Jimmy Anderson for Jacksonville Country Clubhis service as golf professional at Jacksonville Country Club and his dedication and support of junior golf. The event will be a 36-hole stroke play tournament for junior female golfers between the ages of 12 – 18 who have not finished high school.  The tournament will be contested October 1-2, 2016 at Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, NC.
Leading the event after round one is Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) after firing a 3-under par 69 today.  Curtis had four birdies and just one bogey on her round today.  In sole second by one stroke is Natalie Petersen (Holly Springs, NC 2017) with a round of 70.  Petersen birded her final three holes to shoot under par.  In third place also by one stroke is Bailey Davis (White Plains, MD 2021) with a 71.  Davis had three birdies and one bogey on her round.  Emily Hawkins, (Lexington, NC 2018) Jayla Rogers (Wilmington, NC 2019) and Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019) are all in a three-way tie for fourth with an even par 72.
The PKBGT will present the top-2 players and ties with invitations to the PKBGT Tournament of Champions which will take place on Dec. 3-4 at Pinehurst No.8.  The top-5 players and ties will earn invitations to the PKBGT Invitational which will take place at Grandover Resort on Nov. 12-14.  We look forward to an exciting finish!
