We were fortunate to have great weather this weekend in January for our PKB Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club! Temperatures were in the 50s and 60s and the course was very dry considering the amount of snow and rain we’ve had this month!
Winning the Bell Series was Caroline Wrigley (Wexford, PA 2019) with rounds of 85-76-161 which gave her a two stroke victory over Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC 2018) and Peyton Gillespie (Greenville, SC 2019) who tied at 163. In fourth place was Sophia Trombetta (Independence, OH 2018) with a 166 total and Janelle Porman Cramerton, NC 2017) finished in 5th at 167.
Winning the Futures Series was Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with rounds of 77-75-152 who scored two of the lowest rounds of the tournament. Melissa Meng (Blacksburg, NC 2020) was the runner-up at 168 and Caroline Smith (Inverness, IL 2020) finished third at 170. Tied with her at 170 was Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2022) in fourth and Michaela Cox (Greensboro, NC 2017) placed 5th with a 176.
The PKBGT returns to action on February 13-14 with the Rocket Tour Players Championship at UGA in Athens, GA.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
