— Live Scoring —

The PKBGT returns to action this coming weekend for the Peggy Kirk Bell Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club.  The forecast for January 30-31 is showing temperatures with highs in the 50s and 60s, a stark contrast to the wintry weather that moved into the region this Mid Pines Inn & GCpast weekend.

The tournament features 56 players from nine different states.  The Bell Series will tackle the classic Donald Ross design at 5900 yards while the Futures Series will play the course at 5115 yards.  Featured in the Bell Series this week are Amy Wooten (Clinton, NC 2018) Sarah Funderberg (Wilmington, NC 2018) and Mackenzie Battle (Aberneen, NC 2018).  Wooten finshed the 2015 season ranked 33rd on the PKBGT Performance Index.  Sarah Funderberg finished the season ranked 55th on the Performance Index and she also finished in 2nd place at the Chanticleer Classic at Coastal Carolina in July.  Mackenzie Battle is ranked 74th on the Performance Index and she got a win in 2015 at the One-Day Open Series at Chapel Hill CC.

In the Futures Series this week are Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020), Grace Huffman (Lexington, VA 2018), and Melissa Meng (Blacksburng, VA 2020).  Adam comes into the PKB Foundation Classic fresh off of her win in December at the PKB Junior at Pine Needles.  She also finished runner-up at the Tournament of Champions at Pinehurst No. 8.  Grace Huffman finished in third place at the PKB Junior and also won the 2015 One-Day  Open Series at Forest Oaks CC.  Melissa Meng had five top-five finishes during the 2015-2016 seasons, her best a runner-up finish at this year’s PKB Junior.

Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers of each Series.  We look forward to another great PKBGT event and welcome all of our new players!
