Preview: South Carolina One-Day Series at Woodside Plantation CC

On June 18, 2016, the PKBGT will be playing the South Carolina One-Day Series Event at Woodside Plantation Country Club, Woodside Plantation CC is a beautiful facility that is located just 30 minutes from Augusta National and The Masters Tournament, it is also where PGA player, Kevin Kinser grew up learning to play the game. The South Carolina One-Day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of  South Carolina One-Day Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

Featured in the 16-player Futures One-Day SC Series are Telie McCoy  (East Branch, SC 2019) and  Mary Kathryn Talledo (Blythewood, SC 2021).  Telie is currently ranked 3rd on the PKBGT Futures SC One-Day Series Order of Merit and finished in 3rd place at the first SC One-Day Series event at Columbia CC this season.  Mary Kathryn is ranked 4th on the PKBGT Futures SC One-Day Series Order of Merit and has had 2 Top -10 finishes this season with the PKBGT.

Featured in the 2-player Discovery Series are Kinsley Mins (North Augusta, SC 2024), and Ava Romfo (Charleston, SC  2021). Both girls will be playing their first events with the PKBGT ad will also be playing in our inaugural Discovery Series event in the South Carolina Series. We are excited to offer this series to all girls ages 9-12 looking to get started in tournament play in an inviting environment.

Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in each series.  We look forward to a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
