Preview: NC One-Day Series Finale at Beacon Ridge G&CC

On August 20th, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the NC One-Day Open Series Finale at Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club. Beacon Ridge has hosted a PKBGT Last Chance Qualifier in 2013.  One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 30 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Featured in Futures Series field is the Futures One-Day Series Order of Merit  Leader, Layla Meric (Wesley Chapel, NC 2021). Meric has had 6 Top-10 finishes in NC One-Day Series events with a third place finish at the NC One-Day event at Pinewood CC. In second place on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit is Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020). Fox has three first place finishes in NC One-Day events, her latest coming at Chapel Ridge GC. Third on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit is Annabelle Milliard (Indian Trail, NC 2022), she’s had three Top-10 finishes this season. In 6th place on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit is Amanda Kang (Kernersville, NC 2018), with a win at the NC One-Day Series event at Pinewood and two other Top-5 finishes. Other top players on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit are Aleigha Hodges (Ridgeway, VA 2018) in 5th place, Victoria Ladd (Greensboro, NC 2019) in 7th, Bailey Cooper (Pinehurst, NC 2020) in 13th, and Anna Hillman (Summerfield, NC 2018) in 14th.

This is the final event in the NC One-Day Series. The Champion of the NC One-Day Series Order of Merit will receive an invitation to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL in November at Grandover Resort.

The NC One-Day Open Series Finale at Beacon Ridge G&CC brings together players from North Carolina and Virginia. It should be a great event!
