Preview: NC One-Day Series Event at Chapel Ridge GC

On , August 8th, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Chapel Ridge Golf Club. Chapel Ridge has hosted PKBGT events in 2010 and 2011.  One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 28 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Prep Series field features Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019),  Elena Jacoby (Huntersville, NC 2019), and Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2017). Smith is 62nd on the 2016 PKBGT Performance Index and had a top-15 finish at the PKBGT BELL Open.  Jacoby is 53th on the PKBGT Prep Order of Merit and has had 4 top-10 finishes this season. Fox will be making her Prep Series debut at this event, she has had great success in the Futures Series with three wins and multiple top-5 finishes. 

Featured in Futures Series field is Erin Singleton (Apex, NC 2020), Caroline Crumrine (Wilimington, NC 2020), and  Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC, NC 2022). Singleton is ranked 46th the Futures Order of Merit and has also recorded 3 Top-20 finishes this season. Crumrine is ranked 13 in the Futures Order of Merit and had recorded  3 top-10 finishes int he 2016 season. Millard is ranked 5th in the Futures One-Day Series. 

The One-Day Open Series at Chapel Ridge Golf Club brings together players from North Carolina and Arkansas. It should be a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
